Art Classes in Painting and Drawing for Adults
In the art classes at Noel Robbins Studio you will come alive in the process of learning how to draw and paint. We start with the interests, habits, and talents of each individual artist, a direction for study is established and the journey begins.
Theory and practice go hand in hand for advancement in painting and drawing, just as with learning to play a musical instrument. Noel is professionally trained at the highest possible level with a masters degree in painting and drawing from none other than the School of the famous Art Institute of Chicago; you know it, it's the place located on the doorstep of the city of Chicgo with the lions out front and Seurat's famous pointilist painting A Sunday on La Grande Jatte.
Noel has taught at the college level for over fifteen years starting at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, several colleges in the Chicago area and now at Austin Community College. Noel has also taught adult continuing education painting classes and drawing classes during this same span of time at art centers and museum schools such as the Hinsdale Art Center in Hinsdale, IL. and Suburban Fine Arts Center in Evanston, IL., and the Austin Museum of Art at Laguna Gloria and the Dougherty Arts Center in Austin.
Noel teaches every style and medium of painting and drawing, so there are literally no restrictions on where you might go as an art student at Noel Robbins Studio. With the highest level of art instruction available in Austin, you will learn how to express yourself in paint individually, technically, beautifully, and you will learn about the art history and theories that support your natural way of painting.
Noel is invested in his students with small class sizes in a professional art studio located in central Austin. He provides his students with great lighting, easels, tables, air-conditioning, art books and magazines available for check-out, internet access for images and information related to current art practices and theories, and a wonderful assembly of people who come to work on their paintings and drawings and to talk about art.
